i don't know what's up with the spool and gruber. i went to amazon.com, logged in, browsed through the mp3's available, picked one album, clicked "buy with 1-click", installed the amazon app, entered my us address, and boom, now i have monty python sings in my itunes library and ready to make amazing ringtones with fission.

as for rui carmo, well, he's still sulking over his employer not getting the iphone.

So you (and Rui) admitting to something that could be intepreted as wire fraud? OK, fine. Excuse me for not bothering.

It seems more likely to be a bug/oversight than an intentional attempt to bring down the global music rights marketplace. I'm sure Universal will be sanguine once they find out.

"once they found out"?

don't you think they would've found out by now? the tubes are piping hot with people from all over the world talking about it.

i think it's more of a way to test the waters and *try* to show apple they don't need them that much.
